🔵 SAPL WEEK 4 RESULTS: NORTHERN CONFERENCE The Northern Conference is officially getting spicy. 🔥 We thought the Eastern Conference was the Pool of Death...

We're starting to reconsider. 👀 After four weeks, five teams are already sitting above 20 points, and the gap between the contenders is getting seriously uncomfortable. There are no easy nights here. One category. One set. One unexpected pairing. Suddenly the entire league table looks different.

And this week, we had one of the biggest upsets of the round, another team discovering that home-ground advantage doesn't always come with a magic wand, and one incredibly important set that basically decided an entire fixture.

Oh, and somewhere along the way, Texan Petroleum may have had to finance one very long road trip. ⛽😂

🔥 TEAM APEX vs RALLY REBELS One of the upsets of the week We said it before the match and we'll say it again: If Savanna & Cheree turn up, Team Apex becomes a very different animal. And they are definitely turning up. Savanna & Cheree produced yet another win for Apex, this time taking down the formidable Sone & Charelle.

That's a serious result.

We already had Apex on our radar, but this is starting to look less like a team with a few dangerous pairings and more like a team that is heating up across the board. 🔥

Damian is back with Alex. The Intermediate side remains a major threat. And now Savanna & Cheree are stacking up wins too. If all the Apex pieces arrive on the same night... good luck. Because this team could become very difficult to stop.

Texan Tank Check: FULL. ⛽ Someone clearly found the premium pump.

🏔️ SKYe vs KOP RIETONDALE 1 KOP1 get the job done We were hoping the first SKYe home fixture might give them the boost they needed. Home court. Familiar surroundings. No long trip. Maybe this was going to be the night.

Unfortunately... It wasn't. 😂

KOP Rietondale 1 came in and did what they needed to do. SKYe have now had a tough run, and the confidence seems to have taken a few hits along the way. That's the dangerous part of league sport. You lose one. Then another.

Then suddenly you're trying so hard to get the win that every missed volley feels like a personal attack. But SKYe are still in it. And with the Northern Conference this tight, one big result can completely change the picture. They just need to find that spark again.

⛽ Speaking of travelling... We'd also like to know whether Texan Petroleum covered the fuel bill for this one. Because if you're going to travel for SAPL, you may as well come home with the points. 😂 Long drive. Full tank. Job done.

🐺 PADEL PATROL vs WRC 2 THE UNDERDOG CALL WAS RIGHT! This was the one we called. And we're not going to pretend we're not enjoying this one. 😂 Padel Patrol got the result we predicted, but it came down to one incredibly important set.

👶 Malcolm & Devon: THE SET THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING Malcolm & Devon were the underdogs going into their match. They didn't win the overall match. But they managed to grab one crucial set. And that one set ended up being the difference between winning and losing the entire fixture.

Think about that.

You can play three sets. Lose the match. Walk away thinking you've done nothing for the team...

And then discover: "That one set just won us the night."

That's SAPL.

Every set matters. Every game matters. And apparently Malcolm & Devon knew exactly when to cash in their chips. 🎰🎾

👨 The Fischer Brothers keep rolling The Fischer brothers continued their winning streak and once again showed why they've become such a problem for opponents. They're starting to develop that very annoying quality where teams look at the fixture list and think: "Please tell me we don't have to play those two."

Unfortunately for WRC 2... They did.

👨 Zestian & Conré vs the Father of Padel Pretoria And then we had Zestian & Conré taking on Sean Trollip, otherwise known around these parts as:

The Father of Padel Pretoria. 👑🎾

Zestian and Conré came away with a big win. And we're pretty sure they enjoyed every single second of it. 😂 There's something particularly satisfying about beating the guy everyone knows and everyone talks about. We'll leave Sean to decide whether he's still accepting applications for the title.

👩 Letitia & Hilmari: STILL UNBEATEN Unfortunately for Padel Patrol, the Ladies pairing came up just short against a formidable Letitia & Hilmari. And these two are becoming a serious problem. They have lost games, but they have not lost a single set all season.

That's a very different kind of unbeaten.

They're not walking through every opponent without dropping a game. They're simply refusing to let anyone take a set off them. Four weeks in. Still no one has cracked the set. 🔒🎾

At this point, the opposition isn't just trying to beat Letitia & Hilmari. They're trying to become the first team to make them give up six games in one set. 😂 For Padel Patrol, the Ladies loss was painful. But the rest of the team did enough to make that one crucial set from Malcolm & Devon count.

And that's exactly what team league padel is supposed to be about.

⛽ THE NORTHERN CONFERENCE FUEL GAUGE After four weeks, the Northern Conference is looking seriously competitive. Five teams over 20 points.

That's not a conference. That's a traffic jam. 😂

Team Apex are gathering momentum. KOP Rietondale 1 continue to grind out important results. Padel Patrol are proving that our underdog predictions aren't completely useless. SKYe need to find their confidence again. And WRC 2 remain dangerous enough that nobody should be taking them lightly.

The really interesting part? One set can now change the entire table. Which means the final weeks could get very uncomfortable.

And somewhere in all of this, we're beginning to suspect that Texan Petroleum is going to need to start offering fuel allowances to SAPL teams. ⛽😂

Because if you're travelling for these fixtures, you better make sure the tank is full. The Northern Conference certainly is. 🔥🎾
