🔥 WEEK 3: THE RESULTS ARE IN

The predictions were pretty damn accurate! 🎯

We got 7/9 winners right, and most of the scores were within 1 or 2 points of the prediction. The closest call was KOP Rietondale 1 vs Padel Patrol, where we called 9–7 and it finished 8–8.

The only prediction that really went wandering off into the bushes was Banter Bandits vs Tayfin. 😅 But enough about our prediction skills. Let's talk about what actually happened...

🍩 KEAN & RYAN HAVE OPENED A DONUT SHOP

Kean and Ryan handed out THREE donuts against WRC 3, winning 6–0, 6–0, 6–0.

And here's the really interesting part: Across three weeks, MK Padel have only lost ONE of their 12 categories. And guess who handed them that loss? Yep. Kean and Ryan. 😳

That's not just a good result anymore. That's becoming a bit of a personal problem for MK. Padel Parq B are also firmly back in contention after putting WRC 3 away 13–3 overall, with Kean & Ryan doing the damage in Open.

🚂 THRASHERS ARE CRUISING

Three weeks in and Thrashers are looking seriously comfortable. They absolutely dismantled KOP2 16–0, meaning KOP2 went from their massive 14–2 win over WRC 3 straight into the blender themselves.

And the Thrashers machine just keeps producing. Carmen & Marie-Louise added another dominant Ladies performance, winning 6–2, 6–1, 6–3. Meanwhile, Andreas and Rynhard put away Tristin & Lino 6–2, 6–4, 6–1.

KOP2 may be getting serious... But Thrashers aren't slowing down to wait for them. 🔥

🚀 TEAM APEX: THIS TEAM IS GETTING INTERESTING

Mr Unorthodox, Charl, stepped in as a substitute for Team Apex and clearly decided that merely helping the team wasn't enough. He also helped them add another donut to the factory. 🍩

But the really interesting development was in Ladies Open. Savanna & Cheree pulled off a fantastic 6–1, 6–3, 6–0 win. And if these two continue playing together, Team Apex suddenly becomes even more interesting.

Put them alongside their already formidable men's pairings, including Alex & Damian and the increasingly scary Armand & Louis, and you've got a team that can genuinely score heavily across the board. Team Apex are definitely one to watch. 👀

🎾 PADEL PATROL ARE STILL VERY MUCH ALIVE

The late-entry wildcard continues to prove that they didn't come into SAPL to make up the numbers. The Fisher brothers, Adrien & Cameron, continued their dominance in Intermediate, smashing KOP 1 6–2, 6–2, 6–2.

And Zestian & Conré also got the job done in Open, winning 6–2, 6–3, 6–4.

The overall fixture ended 8–8, which probably means nobody at Padel Patrol is particularly interested in hearing that they're the "new team" anymore. 😂 They're here.

🍩 THE DONUT RACE IS GETTING SERIOUS

Freda & Liezel added TWO more donuts. That's another 6–0, 6–0, 6–0 performance in Week 3. At this stage, Krispy Kreme's supply chain needs to start worrying. 🍩

But suddenly there is competition. Arno & Rudolph added THREE donuts themselves this week.

They already had one last week, meaning the Proactive pairing now has four donuts in the factory. So the question is:

Can Arno & Rudolph catch Freda & Liezel? The donut race is officially on. 👀🍩

👨‍👦 WAIT... THERE'S ANOTHER EGMONDT?

Now THIS is something we definitely need to talk about. Arno & Egmondt Snr have still not lost a game.

Yes, Egmondt Snr.

As in the father of the 7.00-rated beast, Egmondt Jnr. 😳 Why have we not been talking about this team before? Where did these guys come from?

And then we heard something that has suddenly made the next few weeks VERY interesting... Apparently Egmondt Snr & Egmondt Jnr are set to clash in two weeks. And here's the kicker:

Neither team has lost a set yet. That's right. Father vs son. Two unbeaten teams. Two generations of Egmondt.

Nothing like an old-school family feud, SAPL style. 👨‍👦🔥 That fixture has just gone straight onto the calendar.

👑 U-PRO INVITATIONAL: WHICH JACQUES?

Turns out we don't need to ask anymore. This is definitely the Jacques we wanted. 😂

U-Pro Invitational continued their ridiculous run, smashing LIV 15–1, with Jacques & Egmond Jnr producing another monster performance. And yes... Another two donuts. They won 6–0, 2–6, 6–0.

Actually, scratch that. One thing is clear: They don't necessarily need to dish out donuts every set. They just need to keep winning everything else. 😅 U-Pro Invitational continue to look like one of the teams nobody wants to meet when the serious stuff starts.

❤️ HATS OFF TO BANTER BANDITS

And finally, a big one for Luca & Eddie. They faced an interesting situation in their Men's Open fixture, with MK's ambassador Frans Meintjie, rated 4.4, standing in for Muazzam. Based on the ratings, there could have been a handicap involved, but Luca & Eddie didn't ask for one before the match.

They simply got on with it. And then proceeded to win: 6–1, 6–3, 6–4.

No complaints. No excuses. No need for help. Just two guys picking up their rackets and saying:

"We'll sort it out ourselves." 😎

That is exactly the kind of spirit we love seeing in SAPL. Luca & Eddie: no handicap required.

🔥 THREE WEEKS IN... AND THINGS ARE GETTING VERY INTERESTING

Thrashers are cruising.

MK are still dangerous despite the loss to Kean & Ryan.

Padel Parq B are back in the conversation.

Team Apex are starting to look seriously complete.

Padel Patrol continue to prove the wildcard label means absolutely nothing.

Proactive have a donut-producing machine of their own.

U-Pro Invitational are terrifying.

And now we have Egmondt Snr vs Egmondt Jnr sitting on the horizon.

Oh, and somewhere in all of this, the Donut Factory is running at full capacity. 🍩🔥 Three weeks down. The league is officially getting spicy.
